Use Stamps to Create a Christmas Tree
In PI 6 or 7.
To make an impressive Christmas Tree, you will need
to download, unzip and add the contents of this
file to your stamp.
Should you need help with adding custom stamps to PI,
then please refer to Ginger
Bauer's tutorial It's primarily a tutorial for PI 6, the the same
principles can be applied for PI 7.
|
Open a new 400 x 400 white canvas.
Using the Path Drawing Tool set on 2D with a bright colour of
your choice, select custom shape Triangle (if you're using PI7
then select custom shape A08). Use the transform tool to reduce
the width of your triangle slightly and then using the Path Drawing
Tool again, draw an ellipse shape to fit across the bottom end
of your triangle, giving it a more conical shape. Right click,
Select All Objects, right click again and Merge as a Single Object.
|

|
Click on the Stamp Tool and select either the snow-pine or the
plain pine. Be sure that the settings are for Transparency 0;
Scale 75; Spacing 50; Trail Placement; Separate Objects. Go to
Effect/Paint on edges and watch as the pine needles magically
appear around your conical triangular shape.
|
|

|
Using the same Stamp Tool and settings, hold your left button
down on your mouse as you drag it around to fill the conical triangular
image to formulate your pine tree. You may wish to delete the
original conical triangular template at this stage which can be
done via the Layer Manager.
|
|
So that's your basic pine tree finished, it's ready for you to
decorate as you wish perhaps using some of the other stamps you
downloaded earlier. Tip: To make lovely looking tinsel, use one
of the tinsel stamps with the setting Scale 30; Spacing 10.

Let your imagination run wild and you'll be able to create all
sorts of beautiful Christmas decorations using this tutorial as
your basis and if you'd like to make some pretty baubles of your own,
then Tena's
tutorial would be the perfect starting place for them.
Have a very merry Christmas!
