Open a new canvas 400x400.
Go to the color replacement pen and be sure that the colour you
want your flower to be is that of the colour in the 2nd box.
|
|
Click on Effects/Almathera/A Shape Cutter and use
the settings as shown here. |
|
Using the magic wand tool, click inside your flower
to select it. Right click and select Expand/Shrink and shrink to
a level of 3 pixels with a circle shape. Right click on your flower
again and convert to object. |
|
Click on Object/Convert Object Type/From Image to
Path and then click on the path drawing tool and alter the mode
to 3D Round with a Border of 90 and a Depth of 30. You should now
have something similar to the diagram on the left here. |
|
Now convert your object from Path to Image and using
the blur tool with a level of 5 and a soft edge of 50, just go over
any raised sharp edges you see to smooth them down and then use
the burn tool to enhance the edges on some of the petals. You can
use the blur tool again at this point if you like just to make things
look nice and smooth. |
|
|
Using the burn tool again, with a round shape of 2,
a level of 100 and soft edge of 0, roughly burn some lines going
from each petal tip towards the center and then blur them too. |
|
|
Now we need to do the centre of the flower, so using
the Path Drawing Tool in 2D mode, with a circle shape and a mid
brown colour, border 15, Depth 30, draw a circle that will be big
enough to fill the centre. Click on Effect/Eye Candy/Weave and use
the settings you see here. |
|
Merge all and then using the magic wand toolselect all the white
area around your flower. Right click and select Invert. Right
click again and select Expand/Shrink. Shrink by 1 pixel circle
shape and then when you've done that Right click again and convert
to object. Using the transform tool, rotate this new object by
15 degrees clockwise and then merge all.
|
|
That's your sunflower head done, but obviously you're not going
to want to leave it like that, so I suggest that you select the
white area once more, Invert, Expand/Shrink 1 pixel again, Convert
to Object and use this flower head in a composition as I have
done here.
