Using 3D round, custom shape = Round Edges 3, natural texture material
of your own choosing, border 11, depth 30, width 4, draw shape.
Click on the material button and then the light tab,
alter the settings to 1 spotlight. |
Using the transform perspective tool, pull out the
bottom of your cushion slightly to give it a little more of a puffy
shape and then lenghen your shape slightly. |
Duplicate your shape twice to give you 3 back of sofa
cushions and align them much the same way as I have here. |
Using 3D round, rectangle and all other settings as
they were before, draw a rectangle the width of the back of sofa
cushions and half the depth. Send this piece to the back. |
Change the shape to rounded rectangle and draw another
shape a little longer than the width of the last one and place this
one to overlap the back of sofa cushions. |
Duplicate that last piece and make it slightly larger
and longer, then alter the light setting to 1 direct light. Place
this piece below the last one and send to the back
Duplicate the last piece again but make much thinner
(about half the width), give it a wood fill and be sure that it
has a border and depth of about 7. Place this into position as shown
in the diagram. |
Using the same wood fill and other 3D round settings,
draw a rounded rectangle to create a wooden panel for the front
of your arm rests and place it into position as shown in the diagram. |
Using your original fabric fill draw a smaller rounded
rectangle to place in the center of the one you've just done, being
sure that the light setting is at 1 direct light. Select the last
two pieces you made and duplicate it. Place the second one on the
other side of your sofa and position as shown in the diagram. |
All we need now is some arm rests, so using your original
fabric fill, draw a 3D rounded rectangle with the light setting
at 1 spotlight. Duplicate this piece and using the transform tool,
distort this second piece similar to the shape you see in my diagram.
You may need to fiddle about to get this next bit
right, but what you do is move the distorted rectangle to above
the ordinary rounded one and group together (do not merge as a single
object). Position them as you can see in the diagram. |
When you're happy with the position, duplicate the grouped objects,
rotate and flip horizontally and then move this second group to
the other side of the sofa in much the same position as the first
arm rest.
Select all objects and save to your Easy Palette for later use.
The reason why you haven't been asked to merge anything is so
that you can alter material colours to suit any scene.

Here's another that I've done using a different fabric texture.
