A Ghostly Hanger for Halloween
A PI 6 Tutorial

Before starting this tutorial you will need to download this zip file which contains some of the shapes in .psd format that we will be using.

Open a new black canvas 400 x 500.

Open the file with the shapes you saved earlier and drag "ghost" onto your canvas.

With your ghost shape still selected use the paintbrush set on 3; colour black; no transparency or soft edge, paint in two little dots to represent eyes towards the top of your shape.

Deselect your shape.

Then with the Path Drawing Tool set on white; 3D; Border 5; Depth 30, use Custom Shape/Round Edges 3 to make a nose shape. (You will have to alter the dimentions of it slightly using the Transform Tool) Move the nose onto your ghost shape. Click on Edit/Rotate & Flip/Flip Vertically and then move it to just between the eyes.

Using the paintbrush in object mode set on 1; black; no transparency and no soft edge, draw in half an elipse shape for the mouth. If you're having problems making a neat outline, then I suggest that you draw in an elipse shape using the Outline Drawing Tool, then going to Object/Convert Object Type/From Path to Image and then using the eraser to delete half of it.

Use the Path Drawing Tool again with the Custom Shape/Shape Edges 3 but this time with a border of 2 and colour red draw a very small shape to represent the tongue. (You will have to alter the dimentions of this tongue shape slightly using the Transform Tool before fitting it into place at the lower edge of the mouth) You should now have something similar to the image here.

Select all objects and merge as a single object before going on to the next part. This will ensure that the face of your ghost can't be moved accidently. Drag onto your canvas "arm1" and "arm2". Place them into position as shown here. Again select all objects and merge as a single object then duplicate your finished ghost. Move the duplicated image off the main canvas for later use.

Drag onto your canvas the chain from the file you saved earlier. Right click and duplicate it 4 times. Place two at the lower end of your ghost leaving the other three aside for the time being. Go to Path Drawing Tool set on a colour of your choosing; 3D; Border 6; Depth 30; use Custom Shape/Plaque 2 and draw a plaque and position as shown here adding the lower chains as shown too. If you wish, you can add a bump to your plaque by selecting one of your choosing from the Material Gallery in your Easy Palette. The one I used here is called "Moon".

Right Click, select all objects and then merge as a single object.

Now then, you're image as it is at the moment is a little wide, so use the Transform Tool to lessen the width a little. Drag back onto the canvas your duplicated ghost and resize it....You want to make this ghost quite small. Duplicate your newly resized ghost twice and position them as shown here.

All that remains to do is to select the Text Tool in a font, font colour and size of your choosing and type in the word "BOO!" Select all objects again and merge as a single object. Here is where I leave it up to you as to how you wish to display your Ghostly Hanger.

HAPPY HAUNTING!!!
