Description: Learn how to add background fills you may have either created or downloaded to the Easy Palette. Also learn how objects can be saved to the Easy Palette for future use. This is not an in depth tutorial, it only covers the basics.

Add background fills or tiles to your Easy Palette

Download and unzip background tiles or fills to a folder on your hard drive. Alternately save your own tiles to that folder.

In PhotoImpact, open your Easy Palette and click on the Galleries Icon.

**** Right click on the gallery in which you would like to store your fills and then click on Add Fill Thumbnail.

Browse to the folder in which you extracted or saved your background fills or tiles and double click on the first of those fills.

In the Add to Easy Palette box that pops up and be sure that it's being added to the correct Gallery and Tab group before clicking on OK.

Check to see that the fill has been added to the Easy Palette. ****

Repeat steps **** to **** until all the fills you want have been added to the Easy Palette.

To use a fill from the Easy Palette on an image simply double click on it.

Exercise: Download and extract the debisty-tutfills.zip file provided with this tutorial to a folder on your hard drive and add them to the Easy Palette following the instructions above.

 

 

Save objects to your Easy Palette

In PhotoImpact, open your Easy Palette and click on the Libraries Icon and then click on the Library into which you would like your object to be saved.

Right click on your object and Select All Objects.

Right click on your object again and Group.

Drag your grouped object to the waiting Library in Easy Palette. The warning as shown on the left here will pop up, click on Yes.

In the Add to Easy Palette box that pops up give your object a name if you wish and be sure that it's being added to the correct Gallery and Tab group before clicking on OK.

You'll see that your object has now been added to the Easy Palette.

To use an object from the Easy Palette simply double click on it and then right click and choose to ungroup.

Exercise: Download and extract the debisty-bucket.zip file provided with this tutorial to a folder on your hard drive. Open it in PhotoImpact and save it to the Easy Palette following the instructions above. Once saved, double click on it to see what happens
